Carmen PioCosta has real estate in his blood. As a teenager, he spent time both in his family’s real estate office and on construction sites, gaining early exposure to every side of the business. From building a database for rental software in the late 1990s to laying brick, Carmen developed a hands-on understanding of the industry from the ground up.
He graduated from the University of Hartford in 2002 with a degree in Business, majoring in Insurance and Finance and minoring in Accounting. After graduation, Carmen joined the family real estate business, where he became deeply involved in all day-to-day operations and eventually grew into managing every aspect of the company.
Under his leadership, the firm expanded its portfolio to approximately 600,000 square feet of commercial space, representing more than 200 tenants. Carmen has successfully completed hundreds of landlord-tenant transactions, negotiating lease terms and guiding deals through all necessary governmental approvals.
In addition, he has been involved in dozens of property acquisitions and dispositions, as well as numerous planning and zoning approvals. His experience spans the full lifecycle of development—from entitlements and approvals to ground-up construction and leasing.
Carmen is highly knowledgeable in all aspects of land use and development feasibility, with extensive expertise in environmental permitting and related environmental credit programs.
Today, Carmen serves as Director of Commercial Sales and Investments with Century 21 The Crossing, where he leverages his deep industry experience to advise clients on acquisitions, leasing, development, and investment strategy.
